• Neutrality: To continue to enjoy the confidence of all (beneficiaries, partners, stakeholders), HFO is impartial and does not at any time engage in hostilities, or controversies of a political, racial, religious, or ideological nature.
• Voluntary Service: HFO is a voluntary organization not prompted in any manner by desire for gain. As volunteers, members understand the risks and dangers of the missions they carry out and make no claim for themselves or their assigns for any form of compensation other than that which the organization might be able to afford them.
• Independence: HFO operates independently of any political, military, or religious agendas. Its team conducts evaluations on the ground to determine a population's needs before opening programs. The key to HFO’s ability to act independently in response to a humanitarian or development need is its independent funding. Members undertake to respect the character of HFO and to maintain complete independence from all political, economic, or religious powers.
